Activity 1: Through Careful Observation

  1. Kia ora Ruby,

My name is Beren. I am a blog commenter from Auckland and I will be replying to your blog posts over the summer. I am really looking forward to reading your posts and getting to know more about you.

Thanks for sharing your blog post on observing Vincent Van Gogh’s Starry Night painting. What is interesting about Van Gogh is that his artwork wasn’t very popular back in the 19th Century. In fact, he only ever sold one painting while he was alive, how crazy is that? It was only after he died that people started to appreciate his creative, impressionist style.

To give you full points for completing this activity, we need a little more detail from you. What do you think of this painting? Do you like the style? When I look at this painting it kind of reminds me of a dream. Does it make you think of anything? You can answer these questions in the blog comments, I am interested to hear what you think :)

Nice start to your blogging Ruby, please keep it up, I can’t wait to see more of your work :)

    Beren

  2. Hi Ruby

It's Allie from the SLJ team. You made such a good start to the Summer Learning Journey but I haven’t seen any posts from you in a while! It would be really cool to see you come back and do a few more activities! Remember you don’t have to do the activities in order! You can have a look through them all and decide which ones you like the look of!

I’m hoping to see some posts from you soon

    Allie :)
